This Irish country estate set on twelve acres of land was a true blank canvas having been allowed to fall into complete disrepair. Restoring it to its former glory required a top-to-toe refurbishment inspired by the owners’ love of travel. The result was a highly bespoke design which added a modern twist to the mansion’s imposing grandeur.

Balancing old and new was a theme that was carried throughout the house. The Carrara marble floor with Kilkenny limestone buttons of the entrance hall, WC and stair hall was inspired by the owner’s love of the Goring Hotel in London and yet a Julian Chichester sideboard and mirror maintained a contemporary feel.

We sourced the best quality Carrara marble direct from Italy and matched this with Beliemi grey marble in the master bathroom to create a beautiful brick pattern on the floor connecting the shower with its brass framed shower door to the bath tub,

The same Carrara was brought into the other bathrooms throughout the house.

Leinster Stone worked with Dalton & O’Donnell architects and Little Design House interior designers in this project.
